Regular Pages [Kickstart Pro]

To create a standard page e.g. About Us go to Pages from the WordPress menu and go to Pages > Add New.

From within here there are many standard controls such as:

  • Layout Settings – choose a full width page, left sidebar or right sidebar
  • Theme SEO Settings – this box may not appear if a plugin like WordPress SEO (by Yoast) is installed which will override it with it’s own options

Custom Background (versions 1.2 and later of Kickstart)

To set a custom background simply set a Featured Image for the page in question.

A custom background image can also be set on the Pricing page template, however the Blog and Contact page templates do not display a background image.

Custom Background (versions 1.1.3 and earlier of Kickstart)

You may set a custom background on a page-by-page basis by installing and activating the  Custom Background Extended plugin by Justin Tadlock.

This will allow you to add a custom background at the top of any page. No text or other content is placed in this area, this is purely for styling.

Title Toggle

To prevent a title of a page from showing you can install the  Genesis Title Toggle plugin by Bill Erickson. This adds an extra box towards the end of each edit screen which allows you to simply disable the title on a particular page.
